Oh no! - looks like there's a bit of a:

It's been reported that there's a teensy-weensy problem with the excellent game,
Gloom.
I only know of the problem on a 1200 + 030 (2 reports to date), but other
configs may have experienced the same trouble. When playing from Joystick,
after a random time, (but usually near the start of the game) you'll find that
the rotate function locks up, so that you can only sidestep (not rotate) by
pushing sideways on your shaft (..ouch!). This makes the bloody thing
unplayable - especially when you get locked at an odd angle. Quitting and
re-starting from within the program doesn't help either! It's back to DOS and
re-load time folks.
The game is much more playable from keyboard anyway (use cursors to move,
Left Amiga to fire and Left Alt to sidestep in combination with left-right
arrows), but it does appear that if you plug your waggler into the mouse port
then select Joystick 2 from the menu for Player 1, your problems may be solved -
they were for me at anyway:-).
BTW, did you know that if you complete a world (about 7 levels, I think),
whenever you re-load it gives you the option of begining from the start of the
new world - at least on hard drive.
One last thing - don't be daft and install the game on the root directory of
your boot partition (ta Zoltrix!) as it will write over your startup-sequence
and you won't be able to boot. ALWAYS make a directory for it first, then
install to that DIR. To be really safe, always install new warez into another
partition, never SYS:
